Design Your Group's Home Tab With Widgets

Until now, the Home tab for a Squabbit tournament, league, or club has been a single rich-text box. Useful, but rigid — if you wanted to show the schedule, a course map, and a list of admins alongside your welcome message, you were stuck pasting links and hoping for the best.

That's changing. The new Home tab is built out of widgets. You pick the pieces you want, arrange them in any order, and place two side-by-side when you need a denser layout. Your group's home screen finally gets to look like a landing page instead of a memo.

The widget types

There are six widget types to choose from. Add as many as you want (up to 30 per group), in whatever order makes sense.

Text

Rich-text block for announcements, rules, or anything else you want to say. Full formatting, links, and lists.

Image

A single full-width image. Drop in a banner, a course photo, a sponsor logo — anything that fits.

Schedule

The round schedule for your tournament — date, course, and format for every round. Tournaments only.

Map

A Google Map centered on your course so players can tap straight through to directions.

Contact

Your group's admins with direct-message buttons. One tap to reach whoever's running the show.

Row

Two widgets side by side with a pickable split (50/50, 1/3–2/3, or 2/3–1/3). Stacks on narrow phones so nothing gets squished.

Editing is drag, drop, done

Flip the edit toggle at the top of the Home tab and the whole list becomes rearrangeable. Drag a widget to move it, tap the trash icon to delete one, or hit the Add widget button to pop open the picker. Everything saves to the cloud the moment you make the change — no "publish" button, no draft state.

Rows for when you want two things next to each other

The Row widget is the one that unlocks real layout. Pick a ratio, drop a widget into each slot, and you've got a two-column section. Map next to Contact is the obvious one — as shown above — but there are plenty of combinations. A sponsor Image next to a Text blurb, a Schedule next to a course photo, you name it. On phones narrower than about 550 pixels a Row automatically stacks vertically so everything stays legible.

Your existing groups already have a head start

If you already had a Home tab filled out before today, don't worry — nothing disappeared. The first time an admin opens one of your groups, Squabbit automatically converts your old Home text into a Text widget and drops in the standard defaults alongside it: a Schedule for tournaments, and a Row containing the Map and Contact for every group type. From there you can rearrange or swap anything you want.

Give your group a new front door.

Open any tournament, league, or club you admin, tap the Home tab, and hit the edit toggle to start rearranging.
